thanks for the feedback guys
Ric.
I presume you purchased the DP chip (ie. DP31) -piggyback type. This unit claims an extra 26kW to 191 and torque to 558Nm.
What driving dynamic had changed most in your opinion since installing the DP chip, and on what setting?? (eg 0-100, 80-120, pulling power)

Bails
I spoke to the guys at powerchip yesterday and this model is not a piggy back version but a reflash to the existing power chip claiming 193kw & 560Nm. Concerns I have here are that the dealer can reflash over the settings at servicing and you are back to square one. Also not sure if they have done a V6 Tdi before?

Took the plunge and installed a DP chip today (5min job & very easy)
Have it on level 7 and the difference is really noticeable.

In D the car behaves somewhere between D (standard) and S mode, and is alot more responsive thru the rev range.
On a few straight runs 0-100 is somewhere between 7,5 and 8sec.

So you would recommend it? Did they say there was any concerns or effect to the exhaust temps?

Well worth the money??

Now, all you need to do is rip out that stifling exhaust (and DPF while your at it) fit a s/steel 3" flow through pipe and then you'll get even more out of it! I just did the Navara 2.5 a few weeks ago and the whole 9 yards from chip (dyno settings) to tailpipe (no DPF anyway) and it ferkin has some balls! It's set on 5 for daily running, 7 for towing and 10......nah, it's too much for a dopey dual-cab. I leave it on 5 'cause it's under warranty and that's enough for me.

I had a Panther box on my V6TDI and it did no harm, more flat-line torque and I'd have to say improved fuel - great for towing. The thing you have to watch is let the whole thing cool down (turbo) before you get to your destination...chipped or not, don't flog the donk. TDI's need a sensible right foot, pedal-to-the metal occasionally and turbo warm down is a total must. No turbo timers for Tregs as we know!

I have since replaced the DP chip with a Chipit one www.chipit.com.au It is heaps better as it also plugs into the MAF. Also a great bunch at Chipit always willing to help. (Can't say that for DP)
