I know this has been addressed alot but I haven't found my answer. I bought a 06 v6 with the xenon's. The error on the dash showed up for checked headlight range control module and stays lit up. I bought a new level sensor for the left front since my VAG by ross tech scanned and stated faulty left front sensor. I replaced it and still have the error. I did notice the plug is not staying tight so this may be the issue.

My questions are does anyone know where he wire from the sensor plugs into? bc i need to see about possibly replacing that plug/harness if thats the issue. Also i checked the passenger side front and didn't see a level sensor on that control arm. Should there be or is there only one on the driver side? My error im getting is for the driverside front headlight level sensor. And error in basic setting for adaptation light.

The rosstech errors are 00776 - level sensor, and 01539 - headlights not adjusted. Any help would be appreciated. I just want this dumb error to go off my screen.

Note that when i start my car, my headlights do calibrate and both of them move up, then down, then center and stay there.

Thanks in advanced.

I did discover the old level sensor, the pin that goes to the black with blue stripe wire was broken off in the plug/harness. I got the old pin cleaned out of the plug im pretty sure but still getting the error in the car. I used a test light and the black/blue and the red are getting power, there are two browns that dont show anything. Does anyone know where i can find a schematic on what they should be reading? Im determined to get this error off my dash!

Secondly, could anyone that has a VAG ross tech check their setting for the headlights, left and right one, for the BASIC SETTING, what the value is? I think you have to have the xenons like i do but im getting the error that the BASIC SETTING/ADAPTATION is not there or incorrect. Mine says 002. Thanks again.

You know there is also a second sensor, in your rear left wheel.
Just my experience, but I had a similar error to yours, except indicating the rear sensor,
turned out Both sensors were bad ! Had to replace both to clear fault.

Ok great I'll pull off the rear tire and check that one too bc I dont mind buying another sensor if it resolves it.

Looks like ur right, the back one had electrical tape around the wires as if something was up before, the 6 pin plastic plug was all seized on there and broke a little coming off. The sensor in the rear is all rusted and im sure not working properly so im going to order a rear one too for $89 dollars. I also want to replace the plastic 6 pin plugs if possible and splice in the wires. Does anyone know where i can find the part number or schematics for this? It's the plastic plug that attaches to the front and rear level sensors? I would need two of them. Thanks again for all the help.

Sometimes it is just much easier to visit your dealer's parts department!
