So, that time has come. The 05 Touareg V8 is not a part of the family anymore.

I must say, I absolutely love the car and it'll just be a matter of time before I get another one. For now, the Golf TDI will be my main commuter and despite loving the car, parting with the Touareg was the hardest car decision I've ever made!

It was nice meeting you all, hopefully I'll be back sooner than later.

I think it was mileage since it was his daily driver hense the Golf TDI.

Yeti nailed it. It was a combination of me thinking I was paying way too much monthly for what was ultimately a fancy commuter for me. I made the decision to get a TDI and save some $$$ for the time being.

I bought the Touareg thinking I'd use it to haul motorcycles and to be a good truck for the occasional backpacking, camping, canyoneering trip. In reality, I've only taken it off road once, right after I got it to test it's skills under uneven terrain (desert west of the knolls, just before Wendover).

I must say, parting with that car was hard. When I saw it all empty and with a dented passenger side door from a parking lot accident just a few weeks ago I almost got teary eyed. I've always gotten attached to my cars, but the "Eg" was definitely a car made just for me.

Having said that, I LOVE how nimble the TDI is and will probably start racking up speeding tickets soon!! I'll probably still be checking posts here though, it almost feels like I've made friends I've never met!
