I'm new here. I just bought a 2008 Touareg V6. I love this car so far. I just got rid of my 2008 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (Rubicon) and the VW seemed like a logical transition due to its offroad capabilities.

Does anyone know what the button on the right side of the steering wheel is for? I know the one on the left side turns off the backlighting for the controls on the steering wheel.

Thanks!

Mine has the same buttons can that be installed.

Not easily or cheaply.

If it has a ski bag in between the seats you got it. It won't work unless it's cold and there is no light to indicate if it's on either!
That is not the case with the T2's. I don't have the ski bag between the seats and I have a heated wheel. :) As well on the T2's there is an indicator on the dash that lets you know it is in fact on.

I think that indicator light on the dash is only on those that have the Tech package. I have, and love, the heated wheel, but only the Lux & don't have the light.
Yeah I guess the standard MFI does not have the feature to let you know if it is on if you have it. I thought there would be something there to let you know, but I guess not.

I'm starting to see why the senior members were getting annoyed...
I am not annoyed at all, but certain questions do come up a lot and could be easily answered if you do a search or took the time to read your manual. I know the manual can be vague at times, but worth looking at when you buy the car. :) Everything has been covered for the most part at some time or another on this forum.

1. My apologies for starting a thread that has been done. As I said in my intro, I am new to this whole forum thing and wasn't even aware there was a search function to look at prior threads.

2. Sebbers you need to lighten up. Your comment makes me not want to participate in this forum and I don't think that would be fair to me or you. We may have experiences to share and not even know it yet...

Yah yah sorry... I'm in a mood today and all of these new threads pop up in my reader so the same question over and over got to me...

Use the search function of this board. It's probably the best one that I've ever used...

And as Marty would say...

Look for similar threads at the bottom of the screen...

:)

Sebbers, I have learned in the past, if you are not having a good day don't post. You tend to say things you regret later. :)

I was not giving you crap at all, but was more or less telling you what is at your disposal for info. Welcome and enjoy your time in our community!! :) You will get used to how things are laid out and can access info quicker once you get a feel for. You will get Marty telling people to scroll down a good deal and he is not being a jerk, but rather giving info that threads of a similar topic will be generated at the bottom of the page of the thread you are on. Just an FYI for you.
