Getting a bit of a whine from the transmission on my 2007 TDI. Deceleration at 50km/ph induces it. Had a bit of a major transmission fluid leak a couple of years ago. So could it be a result of this, Maybe ?
Has done 230k km. Any advice welcome please.

Without hearing more I am inclined to suggest your front diff, in my opinion the greatest Achilles heel of this platform. They all go bad and when they do many owners seem to not realize. Repair options are tedious and junkyard units likely just as scrappy. Best of luck

Thanks for that informed opinion, have just attached a 3mt caravan and can't hear the noise if that's another clue. The gear was 5th dropping into 4th @ 50kph.

Obviously American
Careful with generalizations mate, easy to forget your government recognized your indigenous peoples as animals until 1967, or maybe lets visit Christmas Island?
Seriously, you people are the world's best terrorists ever imagined. My list would take up reams. Let's just stick to Touaregs then, I wouldn't want to fall out with the Yanks.

I'm sure the collective nations of south east asia think as highly of Australian tourists as you do of Americans.

Good luck chief

I dont really want to keep this going, but it was one of yours who gave the helpful comment. It's you who took exception to my comment, it was directed at the smart arse. Both settler colonionalist nations have a a lot to be ashamed of, but really aren't you taking this a bit far. Let's face it you are defending the very bad American that we both probably dislike. Can we leave it there, otherwise it may go on forever.
