I collected our 2020(2021model) touareg new on 18/12/2020. When I rang and booked in for 90000 service I ask also for both differential and transfer box oils to be changed. When I went in for the service I noticed on their printout that changing the oils in the front and rear differentials was included in the service. When I was collecting my car after the service I noticed that the work record showed a tick saying that the oils had been changed. The technician who did the service was present and I said to him that he had changed the diff oils, and he said that he did not change these oils. I said to him that he had ticked that he had the oil changes, so why was this not done. The service operations manager told me that changing the diff oils should have not been on the list for servicing at 90000. I ask then why was it listed on the work sheet then. He said it was a mistake and should have not been there. .????. He also said neither the diffs, transfer box should be serviced. Then when I ask about servicing the auto transmission, I was told that sealed for life and no servicing required. Well, no suggestions from me had any effect. I have been searching on the forum and for the life of me I cannot find out the model of the XF 8 speed box and in my touareg and they were of no help. Could somebody help me out here. Does anyone have a list of oils suitable for my diffs, transfer box, and auto transmission please. Also, is my rear diff limited slip.

You have a ZF tranny, not XF.
To clarify if you have rear diff lock or not, look at your PR code sicker or your buildsheet.
To get all the service oil info, etc. get yourself a subscription to erWin and download all the info for your vehicle (service manuals, SSPs, TSBs, etc)

I believe VW in Australia no longer allows erWin downloads. This was due to Australian legal requirements that service information on high voltage electric cars only be available for qualified technicians and it was easiest for them to just ban all downloads in Australia

You can use Erwin in Australia, just lie about your address and possibly use a VPN.

Just tell them you want the work done, the parts department will be able to find all applicable oils. You do not have a limited slip diff.
