I just picked up this 08 T2 v8 gas automatic transmission with air suspension , that is non running and that has been sitting for at least 2 years. Tyres are good but suspension has collapsed.
I replaced the battery. When the ignition is on all the lights, radio and ac come on, but when I try to start it I hear no click and the lights don’t dim and I get this message:
depressing the brake pedal, which is very stiff for lack of vacuum, does not change anything.
I looked for the brake switch under the dash but there is none on this model. There is a brake pressure switch connected to the booster vacuum line by the master cylinder,
butthere is no power going to the vacuum pump. I applied 12v to the pump and it works. I also repaired a few cracks on the vacuum lines. I also jumped the starter relay and it did crank.
I have 2 keys one gives me the above situation and the other gives the message “Immobilizer Activated “
Any thoughts on what could be the problem, while I am trying to locate my vcds cable that I misplaced somewhere?
