I recently purchased a 2008 touareg 2 it has aftermarket headlight assemblies in it and no high beams, it has wires cut and different plugs connected a single bulb in the projector portion and the other bulb is not connected to anything, I have probed the remaining unconnected wires hoping to see a high beam signal indicator with my test light but all I get are flashing indicators when probing, I'm guessing it has to to do with detecting for incomplete circuit for a blown bulb? Idk other than finding a wrecked 08 with all the HID stuff intact i am kind of at a loss on how this system works if anyone could point me in the right direction I would very much appreciate it thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forums.
Sounds like someone butchered the headlight assy's/wiring to get a working bulb.
Either you're going to need new units, or possibly fix the faulty wiring that someone bypassed to get a light output.
