Just happened. Everything worked… most parts are good to go. I’d like interested parties to step up and let me know what parts I should save upfront so I know how to dismantle. sorry it’s my first teardown.

Is it just plastic damage to the fender and bumper? A very common color also... why not just slap on another silver fender and bumper from a junkyard?
It’s that eazy? I believe the power steering is gone. Core support, radiator….?

I think the front chip is bent

I only have those photos you posted, you'd have to see what is really damaged and decide exactly how hard it is to replace. The radiator on these things is pretty buried behind the frame and usually well protected. The bumper and fender are easy and quick to remove, and so is the power steering cooler that is up there, if that got punctured.

Personally, I wouldn't mind throwing a new bumper over a little bent sheet metal if the chassis is still generally straight and structurally sound.

I can't decide for you, you would need to really get in there and look, and only if you are sure you have the technical experience to judge it's safety, or can find someone who can. I think you would be able to find the right color matched parts by searching nationwide and shipping them on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

I'd imagine once you get in there you'll need some other stuff too- possibly the headlight, horn, headlight surround plastic, etc. but all of that stuff should be easier to find locally than the color matched fender and bumper.

I’ve done most of the maintenance since I bought it. That was 2014. Maybe you’re right. I should just get in there.

If you get the front bumper off and really get in there, and post some good photos I'm sure you'll get plenty of opinions from people on here about if it is worth fixing or not.

Forgot to say the drivers airbag deployed.
That certainly complicates things and is above my pay grade to comment on... I'd probably involve a professional body shop at least to do the actual airbag replacement, but price that out and explain the whole situation to them before ordering anything

I personally would probably fix this if you like the car enough and the frame rail isn't really bent. I've bought and fixed much worse with relative ease.

Sorry to see this happened.
I agree with others, tear into it to see how deep the damages go before unloading it. You might be pleasantly surprised.

So had a very good mechanic look closer at it… the front end has been pushed toward the passenger side. Driver airbag and seatbelt both popped. I believe the main wiring harness is pinched or cut somewhere. I can’t get enough juice into the system to get it out of park. Haha! It’s done guys.
I had liability only insurance.
The VR has a new intake manifold. 206k miles. Getting better mpg then I ever have. I can take some more pictures…

Bummer as I was hoping for you that the damage was minimal enough that you could save it.

Anyone know how to get this thing into neutral with no power? It wants to keep my key too… haha!
How to release the shifter interlock is in the video below. As far as your key, is there a small hole next to the key where it inserts?
