This is my car with brand new oem timing kit.
2012 crca engine
The timing kit was installed 20km ago.
IDE00021 Engine RPM 700 /min
IDE00025 Coolant temperature 70°C
IDE00182 Camshaft adaptation intake bank 1: phase position -0.80 °
IDE00196 Engine oil temperature 88.8 °C
IDE01922 Vehicle distance driven 266000 km
Now the rattle at the engine start is gone ,but car has different sound from 1500rpm to 2000rpm. Not sure is the chain more louder or it’s something else.

Show off! Just kidding, good numbers. Did anything fail or did you just do everything for PM?

After a year it has now started to rattle at idle. Here's an update for vehicle #2. And, just to answer the inevitable question: Yes, I am making plans to change the chain drive now that the end of my dieselgate warranty is approaching.

#2. 2016 A7 CPNB, 102k mi, very significant rattle on start, noticeable rattle at idle, OCI 10k
IDE00021 Engine RPM 749 /min
IDE00025 Coolant temperature 88 °C
IDE00182 Camshaft adaptation intake bank 1: phase position -12.28 °
IDE00196 Engine oil temperature 93.8 °C
IDE01922 Vehicle distance driven 164074 km
IDE04095 Engine running time Total:1367H3542s
Wow! This at only 102k miles?

That's getting up there. Curious what oil you're using.
Hey I bought it at 98,000, switched to liqui moly top tech 4200 and did ceratec coating every 40,000km. I have a Malone stage 2 with EGR & DPF delete on it which probably is why the stretch is on the higher end comparing others at similar milage.

Have you been driving it like you stole it? Was it tuned when you got it? I'm guessing you probably didn't check chain stretch pre-tune?

Yes it moves well for the weight and the tires I'm running on it. I definitely don't drive it with fuel economy in mind if that's what you mean.

No I didn't check stretch back then, that would have been a cool thing to track. It wasn't tuned before I owned it. Maybe I'll track it on my Audi which is basically the same engine.

I'm wondering how stage 2 will effect the chain stretch. If the "extra load" is a contributing factor.

Curious, what is your best MPG with the tune? I have same tune but haven't had it very long. Best I've seen so far is 30.2 MPG. I'm thinking of dropping back down to stage 1 as I'm concerned stage 2 might contribute to the wear and I really don't care so much about performance. Don't get me wrong, it is fun but I don't want to mess up what I have. I want the "fun" to last.

I've got a MkV Jetta I ride hard ha, ha. Things that break there are cheaper and easier 🤣

For me the old eom timing chain was looking pretty good ,noting was severely worn.
Before the replacement the adaptation was around 4.5/5 degrees.
The big problem for me was the upper oil pan oil leak.
Ah, a "while you're in there" adventure. Good on you. Hopefully you addressed all the "other stuff" to set yourself up for another 200k+ miles or so. :)

Thanks to all for this helpful thread
I'm going to do this for you (let's say there's a language barrier), but at the same time I'm going to use you as another example of how inconsiderate users are. I've requested on several occasions that people make it easy for me to add their info to the table by giving me the exact and ONLY info I need, in a concise format.

Barely anyone does this.... I have to extract info from your screen shots, convert values, interpret information.

I guess all your time is more important than mine, and why would you inconvenience yourself in any way when you can just do it to me!

Well to be honest the language barrier it’s out of question. The point is, if it was considered mandatory to post the value in that exact way, I had it done. Likely I didn’t understand it correctly, seen the result. . That said, your way of correction looks a bit rude on this side and too much severe. People must feel free to participate without too much rules or hassle, differently they run away.
I have been sure my contribution could be useful. Unfortunately I was wrong.

End of story.

No, not the end of story. I'm the one spending my time to collect the data and keep it organized for lazy users to benefit from. As such. It's your responsibility to follow the example and make the process as easy as possible for me, who has to constantly reply and add to one post so that people don't need to read 24pgs to get the idea.

You people are lazy. That's the end of story. I may be rude, but I'm correct

You must learn.

Each contribution should be of the very kind, polite without being arrogant against someone’s effort, a bit different.

Yours has been polemical and completely out of place. You missed the opportunity to be appreciated and staying quiet.

You should be proud. Deleted.
