An interesting discussion. I agree that the 650kg load rating of the BSA wheels is a concern. How about the Hussla Ambush? Available at Ozzy Tyres in 5 x 112, 1050kg rating? Seems to meet the requirements above?

OEM 18" wheels for your CR Touareg take the following:
5 x 112
8J x 18H2 ET25
66.5mm centering
Tyres recommended - 255/60R18

The Touareg II (7P model) take the following OEM 18" wheels:
5 x 130
8J x 18H ET 53
70.5mm centering
Recommended tyres - 255/55R18

You can see that you are not able to fit 7P wheels on the CR.

Porsche Cayenne wheels from the 9YA model (the CR twin) were not available in 18" size.

Other options are Audi Q7 wheels for the 4M model (post 2015) as they are the same size as the CR Touareg's. Problem being is that Audi Australia didn't release that model Q7 with 18" wheels, so finding 2nd hand ones would be a problem.
Audi have a 5 star design - 4M0 601 025A you could look up.

Volkswagen options are limited to as follows:
CORDOVA - 760 601 025A
CASCADE - 760 601 025T or 760 601 025H
CONCORDIA - 760 601 025M

There may be other options from the other German manufactures but I don't have available to me their specs.
Problem is sourcing 18" wheels in Australia is difficult as most came in with a minimum size 19" and after market suppliers mainly supply larger sizes.

Edited information:
BMW X5 (G05 model) 2018 to 2023
5 x 112
8.5J x 18 ET44
66.6mm centering
Tyres - 255/55R18

Mercedes-Benz GLE (V167) 2019 to 2023
5 x 112
7.5J x 18 ET52.5
66.6mm centering
Tyres - 235/60R 18
I just saw your post to this older thread. Do you think that 18 inch wheels will clear the callipers of a 22 model 210?

18" wheels are listed as standard size for European models. You should have 350mm front and 330mm rear brakes, so clearance is there.

Hi, having the same problem. Found a place which says the OX 406 can be machined to suit the CR. Load is 955 kg. Went to Tyrepower and they didn’t seem too keen on those wheels. Seems to be almost impossible to find some 18.

After much consideration I decided to import 5 second hand OEM VW Wheels (Cascade 5x112, 18x8) from a reputable dealer in Germany. I am planning to cross the Simpson this year (weather permitting). The load rating was the primary concern as I will be close to the GVM. The wheels were reasonably priced, the shipping not so much; the whole process was flawless. The 5th wheel is mounted on a Tyretrek carrier (the sub-size floor well is a major bug bear). I opted for the factory endorsed 255/18/60 (Toyo Open Country ATIII). Many thanks to those who shared previous off-road setups (Drewza etc). My own set up is very similar, save power which is remarkably simple these days. I opted for an Ecoflow Delta 2 Max which is powerful, versatile and easily charged with solar and 12V socket at the rear.
