Hello from Virginia - 2012 3.0L V6 TDI Executive Series

I ha e the same ride.. it's crazy fast. I pulled the rear seats as not a family guy and it turns into a mini van I can pick up snap on tool boxes with room to spare.. that egr valve tho.. was hard to swap.

I have a soft spot for the TDI's so I had to "rescue" it ha, ha. Hopefully it won't be the death of me. I'm a glutton for punishment. I think I may preemptively replace the HPFP and injectors since I'm getting into the zone where "stuff happens". Preventive Maintenance is what we called it in the military.

In 99% of cases the chains (in the 3.0 TDI) are outlasting TDI timing belt intervals by multiple times 🤔

It will be miserable assuming it's outside of warranty. That said just check vagcom for wear values. Have any current start-up chain rattle?

Ironically, I'm out driving it today and I've got my laptop with VCDS with me and was planning on looking at those values when I get back and it's warmed up good.

No, rattles that I can discern.

I watched both of these videos and still bought one ... so I'm fully aware of what I could be getting into :ROFLMAO: Maybe this vehicle will finally cure me of my TDI disease.

Will do. Will be a bit before I get back home where laptop has network connection but spoiler alert ... it was like -1.74 so that made me happy!

I took a screen shot so I'll post it in the thread when I get a chance.

Good thing I've got a Bendpak 2 post lift. This thing will most likely need it ha, ha.

It's always good to change out the HPFP to prevent failure though.... right. :ROFLMAO:
