2005 R5 2.5 TDI no DPF.

Question the first, keeping in mind that this engine requires 506.01 or 507.01.
Is it safe to use a crankcase cleaner like Seafoam in the oil to clean carbon out of the ring lands and combustion chamber keeping in mind the nikasil bore lining and high shear strength requirement for the cam.
I'm not sure about adding solvent to the oil for that reason.

Question the second. What do you think about using Liqui Moly Cera Tecoil additive to help with the cam situation?

According to Sea foam it WILL work

Vag cars are super sensitive to these things. Never used seafoam in a turbo diesel vag but certainly used in everything else

it's crucial to follow the manufacturer's recommendations for your specific engine and oil type.
Before using any oil additive, it's advisable to check your vehicle's owner's manual, as manufacturers often provide guidelines on which additives are compatible with their engines. Adding aftermarket additives may not always provide significant benefits, and in some cases, they can even cause issues or void warranties.

Yes, I wrote 507.01 which is incorrect.
It should have been 505.01 and 506.01. Pretty sure 507.01 doesn't exist.
VW spec 507 is for pump düse

Why are you like this? We're you tormented as a child?
Called a straight answer in my book.
Just think, you go to the Dr and he discovers you have terminal cancer. The straight shooter tells you so you can get your affairs in order, the pussyfoot response leaves you unaware and the brother in law you hate most in the world gets your treasured collector car. Know which one I'd have any day!

With DPF I think.
There has been discussions about how 507 is good for PD with DPF but is contraindicated for PD sans DPF.

I think at least part of the .01 relates to emissions and that another otherwise suitable oil might work for the PD engine specific needs.

You don't know him do you?
It's less being g a straight shooter and more being a pedantic prick.

Are we here to discuss what I know or whatever you're trying to do? Let's start over. What is the issue that you have or think you have? Is your compression low? Burning oil? Experiencing a drop in FE? Have money burning holes into your pockets?

Have a look at the first post.
