i am having trubel whit my v10 TDI 2004 that the pedal is not responding.
when i press the pedal ther is nothing happening.

Falt code (P1861)
the code is claering when i cler the code but its comming up again when i start the car and the motor is ideling at 900 -950rpm.

the pre owner said that it happend afer ha had a big charger on the car batteri.

the car has new batteries now and ther is stil falt code.

A scan with VCDS would provide more information.

The code is pointing toward the sensor in the accelerator pedal. You could try to diagnose it properly, or if the part is cheap and easy to replace, then just load up the parts cannon and replace the accelerator pedal position sensor (the sensor on the "gas pedal").

I could not find the wiring diagrams for the G79 Accelerator pedal position sensor for some reason, so can't say how to test the sensor and/or wiring exactly. In some cars I think the sensor is just two potentiometers and if one fails and they end up showing different values, it will probably give an error code. If so, that should be easy to see from live data.

Idle should be ~750-800 RPM.
It is possible either you have a faulty accelerator pedal ass'y or wiring going to/from it to the ECU.
I don't thin the battery charger has anything to do with it unless you/the previous owner had an issue due to a failing battery/alternator.

kind of surprising that a new Accelerator pedal didn't fix it. Did you get OEM?

u dont tihnk that the ecu is gone bad
No I don't.
i think he said that ther has been a booster on a dead battery
I've boosted and charged quite a few batteries in quite a few vehicles, and I've never had to replace the ECU as a result.
the cars is ideling at 900 when a v 10 tdi is orginaly ideling at 500 rpm.
What are the 3 sensors that are part of the accelerator pedal module on that vehicle?
What is the effect of a signal loss from that module?
but when a cam sensor is bad sholdt the car not start then?
Yes, the engine will still start, just harder..... but that's NOT the only issue he's got.
Look at the scan and the plethora of issues\faults\problems.

I don't like random guessing... use the diagnostic tools, and logic.
The OP finally said that someone was just fixing a fuel leak right above a sensor that the diagnostic tool already said it couldn't get a reading from..... logic tells me that this needs to be investigated. Once that is sorted out (maybe they didn't plug it back in, maybe they damaged wires, etc), maybe we will get a reading from that sensor and he can keep his other new sensor he just blindly ordered for whatever....

Then, you'll be down to only 29 or whatever other errors to systematically go through and sort out. 😁

Take the vehicle back and fix it yourself. You're paying others who also don't know what they are doing to do the same thing you could be doing for free.

Are these the same butchers who fixed the aforementioned fuel pump?

How did the vehicle end up getting more faults and going from a start condition to a no start condition? Something is missing from this story!

So are you planning on fixing it yourself?
If so:

1. Check the connector for the cam position sensor.
2. Check the continuity of the wires from the accelerator pedal connector to the ECM connector. You need to get a wiring diagram to do this. I could not find the wiri g for the accelerator pedal. Maybe someone else can?

nothing it just happen like a glitch, i started the car on a 02 feb and i had the normal codes and the car was ideling (fine) 900 rpm and then i shut the car off, and after i houre i was going to start it again, then it startet whitout holding the brake inn and only fired on 5 sylindres.
and after that i took the sekund scan and it showed all the faltdoes like databus bla bla bla.
it has happend like 4-6 time, the motor is running on 5 syl and after 1 min ish the motor ignite on bothe side and the brake ligth shows upp on the gear selekter.
