Here is a video of my Canadian 2014 VW Touareg TDI R Line with the Tunezilla Stage 2 ECU (CNRB) and (Aisin 8spd) Stage 1 TCU tunes. Stock DP and rear mufflers, Rawtek mid pipes.

VW states 17 seconds @ 78 mph.
My best was 14.76 seconds @ 91 mph (out of 5 runs)

Edit, added more details:
My best numbers were:
R/T .3870s
60' 1.91s
330' 5.99s
1000' 12.28s
1/8 mile 9.36 @ 73.63mph
1/4 mile 14.76 @ 91.17mph

Also note, this was my first time ever driving at a drag strip. A more experienced driver could most likely improve on the time and speed I got.

Please note that I do not work for Tunezilla
I am just an excited enthusiast :)

The TCU tune has improved on the jerkiness of the transmission when it is still warming up. The shift points are more aggressive in S mode. I can get 850-900km city and up to 1200km highway per tank. I am usually enjoying the torque too much to get better mileage than that!

I think the Tunezilla co pilot and the Recaro seats make for a great interior combo.

Interesting, I had stage 2 tune with emissions, custom intake, upgraded metering valve, light weight forged wheels and custom back muffler delete and the absolute fastest I ever went was 15.x with most runs slightly slower than that.

My absolute fastest runs ever (and most weren't acquired during the same consecutive run)
60' 2.02s
0-30 2.25s
0-60 (1ft run-out) 6.58s
1/8 mile 9.64 @ 72.27
1/4 mile (adjusted for DA) 15.09s @ 89.66mph

The only thing you have that I don't would be the tcu tune, which may very well be enough to cut a couple tenths out, which I had surmised would be the case.

I have a feeling my 60' is what hurt me the most but there was just no getting it shorter than that for me, period. I wonder how much your tcu tune helped via decreasing 60' and also decreased shift times for faster et's 🤔🤔

I remember when breaking into the 14s was a thing... had to be about 25 years ago now!
Ya no kidding

Try brake boosting next time. Launches really quickly.

Been there done that, 2.02 seconds is the absolute best I can do and it's repeatable every single time

What method did you use for launch? Offroad, traction off, brake on hard, accelerator to the floor?
Tried every single method... Have a few dozen strip times on that car. Sport mode actually resulted in the slowest drag times, the fastest times were always drive mode, brake boosting, off-road mode, traction control off. Sport mode results in better times when already moving but not from a stop

I noticed that to. Infact apart from holding the gears longer and smoking under hard acceleration, I can't tell the difference between drive and sport. I find normal drive mode is the best all round. While I don't drag my egg, I often have to use the power because half of winnipeg drivers are IQ deficient lizards.

When I brake boost, half throttle, release and when the transmission has just caught up with the engine tip/roll in the throttle smoothly to the floor. Slamming the pedal seems to have negative impact

Same, I kept it and drive mode most of the times but living out in ski country sport mode was beneficial when rapid downshifts and upshifts were required or frequently sought when rolling through the twisties

I almost missed this thread, and would have if it wasn't for a link to it. I hardly ever look in non-diesel engine section.

Next week or three, depending on the weather, I'll be tuning mine. Tune is paid for, hardware sitting in the garage. I found a couple utoob videos that show my ECU should be fairly easy to get out. Hopefully they weren't lying! I thought I would have to deal with the security fasteners but that looks to be later. Can anyone confirm on a 2010? I know I have to ship it to Canada, eh, so I'll rent a car for a few days.

Thanks. I'll lift the cover and see what I'm working with. I have a Dremel if needed.

Dremel or a saw blade if the security screws are still there. If it's been touched before chances are screws are gone so then it's easy pesy

Joy of joys, wonder of wonders, Touareg 2009-2010s are available to flash with Flashzilla. I'm a bit behind, but I have started a thread in the dirty diesel section now that I have my new hardware and software. Should make life a lot easier without having to cut the ECU out.
