Ok, I give up. What’s the secret? (2011 Hybrid) although I don’t think it matters that it’s s Hybrid.

I got the replace key fob battery message which I’ve had before but this time, after replacing the battery the fob no longer does anything. Now, both fobs do not work.

I did notice that if I press the start button with out the fob in the ignition, the fob light will come on, then I will get a message that no programmed keys were found. I tried the method in the owners manual with just says to turn on the ignition with the fob and bam, it’s re-synced. I’ve also search and tried various button gymnastics that don’t work. I’m thinking, much like trying to program the garage door button that there is a secret I’m not aware of.

That’s one of the first links I tried. Does not work. I never get the horn sound either. I can’t see that the comfort module or whatever it’s call could go bad by just changing out the fob battery.

I finally did get it to lock and unlock the door with one fob. I think the trick may be, once you put the battery in, don’t press any fob buttons. Also, when I put the battery in the fob, the light on the fob stays lit for a few seconds. I think, unless the light does that it won’t work. However, now I can’t get the push to start button to work, say’s no programmed key was found. I think it’s a trip to the dealer to get both fobs straightened out. :-|

Bummer I know some people have had success with the vehicle "seeing" the FOB afterwards.
Post back when you're done with the dealer. I'd like to know what they find.

Well, after messing with this, the next day, the battery was totally drained. So off to the dealer it went, they’re telling me the low voltage battery has failed. This is the same battery that was just replaced six months ago so I’m a little skeptical of that, but it’s possible. They are keeping it overnight to make sure that there isn’t anything drawn power, we’ll see. If it is, it’s a warranty item.

6 months on a new battery? Damn that's weird. Self install or dealer?

They changed the battery and the key fob issue came back, so at least they see it and can troubleshoot.

Apparently the 12v low voltage battery, meaning the battery under the seat fail again. Replaced under warranty and now everything works. For now [emoji51]
