Not sure why but have recently noticed that the elecronic oil level meter is missing from the Car/Service menu.

Should be displaying an oil level indicator to the right of the service intervals.

The service advisor was also not sure why it was missing when I took it in for my complimentary 1500km inspection.

Can someone please indicate whether this can be enabled/disabled via VAG-COM?

If so, please which which module in VAG-COM and/or hidden menu to go and check?

Thanks in advance.

Wow that's bizarre but I don't think helps me.. I am missing the oil level gauge and have no idea what caused it. I was already bugged that mine showed low on the electronic gauge and high on the dipstick at the same time. I had been poking around the green menus and vag com but don't remember changing anything so I may have to go to the dealer unless there is an idea out there what else to check........

No matter what you've read here in this or other threads, there is no known official dipstick for your Treg TDI (I don't know about the gasser). Everyone keeps blabbing about the TDI dipstick part number from 4-5 years ago. I have one of those dipsticks. IT DOES NOT READ ACCURATELY IN THE CURRENT TOUAREG TDI! It will show you are WAY overfilled compared to the actual level. DO NOT believe that dipstick reading. It's wrong!

I wish I had a suggestion for the absence of the oil level display from your car but I got nothing. Nothing except (and I repeat) DO NOT BELIEVE WHAT THE DIPSTICK SAYS IN THE TDI BECAUSE THERE IS NO KNOWN OFFICIAL ACCURATE CALIBRATED DIPSTICK FOR YOUR TOUAREG TDI.

Sorry for shouting but I get very agitated when people say oh just buy & believe that dipstick from 5 years ago. :roll eyes:

Shouting not a problem. I have finally read enough to understand the dip stick is not correct and is useless until you calibrate it in some way with the electronic reading. I think I will remove mine after doing this and only use it in an emergency or for fun. I would leave it in but I have already had mechanics who are not informed go by this inaccurate dipstick and scold me for overfilling .... I love our Treg but they sure do come with a few quirky things

Dealers have a calibration tool for your TDI. I posted the PDF here in a thread about retrofitting 2011 MY dipsticks. Still not answering the question you asked about why your electronic gauge went AWOL, however. Could there be a failed sensor? Loose connection to the head unit?

I have the previous model TDI dipstick installed on my 2012 TDI too. Yes, level lines on it are not accurate for the 2011+. However, after having oil replaced in a meticulously accurate manner, I put my own measurement lines on the old dipstick and this serves as a reference very well.

X2 It's nice to have a manual way to verify accuracy of the electronic Level Indicator but you have to take time to put your own markings on the dipstick yourself.
I drained oil and replaced filter and refilled 1 quart short, started engine and after a minute turned off and let sit for 5 minutes, pulled dipstick and scribed my own line. Added last quart and repeated above, now I have both a full line and -1 quart line for my own reference.

Odd thing is, the previous years dipstick, when fitted to my Canadian '12 TDi CATA engine was/is spot on for accuracy. Go figure...
