Hello Guys,
Last evening, I was coming back after attending an office meeting and on my way back, my car's bulb started flickering, and then it stopped working.

I was extremely confused that what is the problem. I talked to my mechanic and took my car to the garage. Long story short he said that your holder seems fine but your bulb is gone bad. He suggested buying this one from an online store, here is the link Osram Xenarc D8S (66548) HID Headlight Bulb | Xenon Planet
Any other suggestions from your own experience.

TommiT makes a good point. You have a good chance that the other hid bulb will go out in the next few months. These projector bulbs are a wear item.

Usually the flickering goes on for a few weeks, but not always. The other common way they fail is to get a reddish tint in the last few months of their lifespan. Afflicted cars are referred to as having "pink-eye."

Do NOT buy the bulb off of ebay or some other random seller. You will probably get a counterfeit hid bulb. If you want such a bulb, they sell for under $20 listed as a generic, last time I looked. Generics will NOT last long, even if they come in a name brand box, so don't get taken.

the Phillips are significantly better. Go with them. Always replace in pairs.
