So Keyless entry worked fine on our 2012 Exec but I was having issue with key #2 syncing with the seat/mirror preset on button #2. I was reviewing the procedure in the book on how to set this. Oddly it works for my wives #1 key but cannot get it work for my #2, so...

I gave up after an hour last night.

This AM the wife say the keyless entry doesn't work now although the Touareg starts just fine on keyless. I then took my key out and it doesn't work either for access to the doors or rear hatch. It will work fine with a push of a button. Ran through all the settings in the screen and see nothing odd or turned off. Did no programming lately with VCDS that would have messed with anything.

Anything I can reset (battery disconnect) or turn a setting off/on/off/on?

Your car battery is prob low, it starts shutting down convince features when it low. I have a 14 Audi A4 that I barely drive, Like once every few months type of deal. Anyhow after it sits for long periods of time the keyless entry will stop working until I give it a good run or I hook it up to my trickle charger then it comes back to life and works perfectly.

Thanks for the theory...will look into it but it's a pretty new battery and we drive the car daily.

I never had the issue when I was driving the car daily years ago, but when I started to let it sit for months at a time thats when I've temporally had the issue.

If you have a trickle charger hook it up for a few hours and see if it works. It could also be your remote battery.
I did read the remote battery comment on other posts too but since both have almost brand new energizer batteries in them I'm going to discredit that. I'll hook it up to VCDS and see the voltage vs voltage on a charger and see the disparity and voltage drop.

Do you leave your keys on tables at night? I found when the temp would drop and I left the key on a glass or medal table the key would start to act up.

I ran another scan and there is a short to grounds in the right rear seat module as shown in the 05 Acc/Start Auth. group. Odd cause that door prob hasn't been opened in a month. I can clear the code and when I try to unlock any door the code now comes back. I didn't see this code before but is clearly the issue.

So who thinks simply replacing the module will solve the issue vs a bad wire somewhere?
