Good vag friendly turbo shop in se queensland

Hi all, i recently acquired an early facelift touareg 3.0 tdi.

Been getting a bunch of turbo errors ranging from out of range to intermittent and now apparently permanent electrical failure p3348 -004
In the past i could tickle it back to life with vcds and it showed ok when cold 20-80 %pwm

So i think i need help and probably a new actuator and specialist calibration.

Im in Currumbin gold coast. Anyone you guys trust in se queensland and who has the turbo actuator calibration tool?

Car only has 140k km, it was only 8k so im willing to spend a little on it.

I must be mad to own two touaregs, other is petrol.

We get all our turbo stuff done by MTA in Molendinar. Never had an issue.

Great, i just contacted them before i read your message. Saying $2150 for a new turbo ready to bolt on but cant provide the actuator only (Siemens vdo). Turbo price seems pretty fair.

Seems like the actuator was on the way out and sems to have failed completely now..

Just looked on Ebay at reman-shop and a new actuator for a T2 such as your's is GB £250.

The biggest issue is finding a shop with the actuator calibration tool. This does a software calibration to match the actuator to the turbo and must be done on the turbo. Its a pain but otherwise its not going to end well. Thanks for the info

I'm no techie on this but are you certain the calibration needs to be done with the actuator on the turbo?

The reason I ask is that on further investigation there are a couple of quite well known turbo companies here in the UK who look at and repair actuators if possible (with no charge if they can't be fixed) and recalibrate before returnIng them.

I know a company here in Brisbane that my mate just started at and he says that a couple of the guys are very knowledgeable. I will be taking my R-Line there for a service next month I would say. The company is Lemans and they are in Woolloongabba. 100 Deshon St. Ask for Aaron.

I visited border diesel yesterday and was very impressed. Not a vw shop but huge clean room with lots of equipment and claim they can program the actuator. Great reviews.

I found an new actuator in uk for 200 pounds delivered by dhl to gold coast in 7 days. I ordered it as my turbo when working has lots of boost and vanes seem to move freely.

Border diesel offered new matching borgwarner turbo complete for $1950 plus fitting. This is my backup as cheaper than the other turbo place on gc.

Why do i have two touaregs.....why????

Forgot to say. Cannot source the siemens vdo actuator in oz as a spare part from my research so far

Unfortunately one is in Mexico and one is in queensland.....its a love- hate relationship with both

I bought a genuine borg warner actuator (branded Continental not Siemens vdo though)from the uk at a good price less than $300 landed in 10 days. Seller turborebuild assure me uts plug and play replacment. Local ships are big in talk and attitude but no one seems ro understand that the actuator needs to be calibrated with a vas 6395 or equivalent tool.
