I've seen curb rash but with these wheels the bead is not what catches the curb so they were really chewed up. I was quoted $800-1000 to refinish them and while tempted, I just knew it would REALLY piss me off if I spent that much then anything happened to them. I've painted lots of houses (in and out) and refinished a lot of wood furniture but never done wheels so was a bit of an adventure.
For materials I chose Isopon Aluminum Wheel Filler. Not the cheapest, but made in the UK and I thought it had a cool name. Very aluminumy. For paint I settled on Duplicolor because they had the full range of products I needed and were readily available locally @ $7/ can.
