When bleeding my brakes, I usually move from the wheel farthest away from the master cylinder to the next one closest and so on. But in the Touareg Repair Manual, it says the opposite. Why?

That is not how I have done it for last 40+ years of wrenching on cars but if that is what the manual says I would probably follow it.
Most vehicles now a day have 2 separate fluid circuits, one front and one back so working farthest away from brake master cylinder only applies to circuit you are working on

I ended up doing the brake blade the traditional way and it worked quite well.
These touareg are definitely some mysterious beasts
Getting a 2008 soon right after we cleared the garage. The railings and hard folding tonneau cover are getting installed this week on the truck and will be moved. Will start with the brake checking and bleeding, hope it will go smoothly.
