Thanks to to the @_#&$ards at TFL I got on the Touareg bandwagon. I always lusted after the v10 diesel but my buddy who runs an auto diagnostics business says he will break up with me if I go that route.
So I got a 2004, 110k miles, v8 with rear locker diff for $1900. It's got a few issues but timing belt has been done.
I live in Los barriles at the bottom of the Baja peninsula. I picked up the treg yesterday and we've got a nice little 1000 mile get to know you drive down the peninsula through the desert tomorrow.
If you see a YouTube video titled " Crazy Ozzie shoots his Touareg in the Baja desert" you'll know things didn't go to plan. Of course my first purchase was vcds.
