Hi all,

I own a 2008 touareg, 16.5K miles on it, 3.6L, with lux package. best part is the bi-xenon with afs headlamps. today i got a message "no curve light function, owners manual", and a yellow light buld with explomation point is displayed in the speedometer. i'm thinking its just the light bulb.

when i turn the car on, the headlights move down, then out, and back in and position themselves. when i turn the steering wheen right, the right corner light turns on. when i turn left, the corner light does not come on and the message is displayed.

can anyone help me? i'm trying to find what kind of light bulb to buy, and how to get into the housing to change it.

help will be greatly appriciated.

I'd agree with Bill. Besides, the headlights locking mechanisms are too easy to break if you're not careful.

Wrong. Burned out bulbs are covered. Any dealer that tells you otherwise is just trying to line their pockets with YOUR money.

The same exact problem just happened with my 08 T'reg V6... I have been having at least one annoying failure each month. Only 42,000 km's on it too.
That's amazing. I just bought a certified preowned 2008 Touareg 2 VR6 with just a little more miles than that, and having this same issue, the lightbulb icon comes on and the no curve light function message shows. Dealer will fix they say. Hoping it is just the lightbulb, not something more. At least the headlights work in general. Also looking to get the horn fixed. Good thing it is such a fantastic looking and driving SUV.

I have had three cornering bulbs go out. 2 on the left and 1 on the right. My dealer told me that they have changed manufactures of these bulbs. Original bulbs were from China. Not sure were where the new ones are made but thus far they have been trouble free. The last time I had one changed I had them replace both at the same time to ensure that they are two of the same maker. All covered under warranty.

FYI a dealer near me has supposedly fixed the no curve light issue by replacing two bulbs.

The headlights worked the whole while, so technicall if you can live with the error message and light icon on the dash, and no batman lights snaking around the curve for you, your headlights still work in the traditional sense, and probably pass inspection (the dealer I got it from passed it anyway - but then again, the horn didn't work, so....).

I a cornering light message on the dashboard. Fog light on the right hand side was burnt. I replaced it but i still get the same message because the fog light doesn't come one as turn right at low speed. It works when i turn on both fog lights manually. Any one has had this issue?

Bulb problem,

Hi all , today I had the same problem in my 08 touareg in the right side , when I removed the headlight out I found that the low corner 5w lamp is burned and all cable harness is dryed and use to make shortage inside the head lights, it's bad quality cable not expected from German car, however I repaired it with a heat proof sleeve. So your problem is the curve light bulb that works with the steering wheel also please be sure that you are not having any burned cables inside the headlights .

Good Luck,
