after running gear faults on my dashboard i determined my air compressor was not working. after checking the 40A and 5A fuses as well as the relay, under the drivers side dash, i put 12volt power directly to the compressor-nothing. so i ordered a new compressor and proceeded to dismantle the old compressor. once i had the old compressor in many pieces i noticed the power and ground connection to the compressor motor were almost completely severed-see picture. anyone taken one of these motors apart? cannot seem to get the long bolts out to access the wiring.

I had the same issue. But i fixed it, spliced the wires, It works good now, but its not a perfect solution, but will hold for long if you do a good job.
had to drill out this platic where the wires goes into. Then had to open motor, brushes will fall out*not easy to get them back in when re assamble it later, and then the backplate will not get loose, before you drill out platic. Also have to splice wires inside in some way* i did splice them with those two short wire ends i had through this hole in motor, because it is used solder to fasten the wires inside.
Then you can mount it all together again. Use special glue two component to fill hole after drilling. Lots of magnetic dust inside, but brushes was in a perfect condition.
The worst problem was the long two pins that you have to take out.

I did use the same cable that was in the motor, and that will be a little bit shorter. But is no problem, the clip in motor bracket will not fit, but the plug will reach when you put it back into the Car.

These long bolt are not easy, but use big pliers and turn them aorund the normal way, Try som heating, but not to much. use WD40 also can help. I did use long time with those. When you get these bolt out, the you have to drill out the plastic filling where the cabel goes through, its deaper than you think.
