13 TDI. looking for leaking coolant. There is a tiny trickle coming down on the passenger side, roughly below the passengers feet. I traced the liquid up to a rubber nipple drain that faces forward in the engine bay. What is the drain nipple? Am I dealing with rain water or coolant here?

Also, is uv dye okay for VW coolant systems?

You have a refrigerated glove box, If I recall correctly. Moist air in there can condense and fall out? Sniff what is dripping or taste it with your tongue barely, to determine what it is. Water or coolant?

Next time, take a picture and post it up, a picture is worth 1000 words.

It looks clowdyish. Like it could be pink. It's dripping consistently but very minute amount. Car hasn't run in 3-4 hours. still dribbling. I won't taste it. I can't smell anything strongly sweet. But it's a drop. literally. Does coolant run through the refrigerated glove box? is that a source of coolant leaks historically?

May add uv dye to the system tomorrow, run it, then hit it with my test light. thoughts?

The nipple is for the ac evaporator drain. If you're seeing pink water come out of there, you heater core is leaking.

Is that and LHD and RHD car? Is passenger side left or right side?

Why would you want to dye a fluid that's, well, fluid, and on top an already colored one, so, it's visible to the naked eye and observable for relatively long periods of time? It also leaves behind pinkish/whiteish residue which is observable even then when the fluid part of it has already evaporated.

LOL.... but I've heard of people using dye all the time to find leaks.... so what if I don't understand its purpose, I'm sure I can find a leak using the same method........

Plus, I'm so angry with this issue, that I'm "seeing red", so I need a different colour as the pink won't show up :)

Millenialitis.... inflammation of mind, due to ownership of complex car systems by people that want to own all the bells and whistles without basic logic to troubleshoot.

Often experienced by used car dealers that bid on Touaregs at auctions, hoping to pawn off patched together touaregs with tons of broken plastic parts, like headlight or taillight tabs and such, while trying to change a light bulb.
