Hi guys & girls. Just wanted to say hi and say thanks for all the info that you have shared. This forum is brilliant and has already saved me plenty of money.

I bought an old 2003 V10 a couple of weeks ago as it was too much of a bargain to say no to...
Of course it came with faults, but that’s half the fun! And it drives like a rocket ?

Looking forward to reading more & learning the Touareg traits. I’m experienced with VW having a Caddy still, previously T5‘s, T4‘s and a golf.

Read the buying a used Touareg thread - link in my signature - to get up to speed if you haven't seen it.

Key item for your old banger is using VW505.01 or VW506.00 spec oil.

Nothing else will do to avoid premature camshaft lobe wear.

Even dealers get this oil spec wrong so unless you know with 1,000% certainty your car has the correct oil then an oil and filter change is also on your list ASAP!

Hello and welcome to the forums.

.

I still have a soft spot in my heart for the V10.

Great ride with very few engines that can compare to it.

It is the super model of the Touareg Line.

Not quite - there was also the W12!

Ah the W12!

There's one for sale in Dubai for a very reasonable 60 thousand UAE Dirhams (about 15,000 USD) and I would jump at the opportunity, but alas, I would not be able to register it in Bahrain as it is more than 5 years old, and any vehicle between 5 and 25 years old cannot be registered or even brought into the country.:crying:

Have you got the link so we can "if only" shop?!

What happens to all the cars when they celebrate their 5th birthday?

VERY NICE!!!

Thank you.

Hmm..strange! No wood interior?? I would think the top of the range model would have that, at least. Unless it was specifically ordered that way.
