So we picked up an ‘09 last year with a power liftgate. When it’s closed I can pull it out about a half inch or so. It also rattles on bumps. On some vehicles I’ve previously driven when the liftgate closes it draws in tighter with an electric motor once it latches. I was wondering if these VW’s are supposed to do the same? There are no lights on and it cannot be opened so it’s definitely latched but not as tightly as it seems it should. Not sure if I should adjust the latch or if something is not working correctly. Thanks in advance.

Anyway I guess this is the soft close feature. I still haven’t figured out if it’s working properly. The gate just kind of drops the last few inches and it latches. But I don’t hear anything happen after that. Maybe I just need to adjust the latch or something so it closes more tightly.
