Chewblekka, any chance you could direct me for a similar wiring diagram showing heated seat circuit covering 2011 LUX

Need to verify control module is part of bottom cushion, seat heats but doesn't cycle and either turns off or gets really hot.

Hi Chewblekka,
I finally tapped into the wiring harness under my seat. The wire colors in the diagrams you sent me for the 2014 passengers seat control do not match the colors in my harness. For example. The diagrams indicate that a red/white wire and solid white wire should be in the harness to control the front/back motor. There is no solid white wire in the harness. Also, other colors in the diagram do not match what is in my harness. I notice at the bottom of the diagrams you send have 2015. Is it possible that wiring colors changed from 2014 to 2015? Any advice?

I’ll look. But it’s more useful to go by the Pin number rather than wire colour.

VW German color codes are always a trip for me. These are often the VW standard, but I always try to find a chart on the pages I am reading.

ws = white
sw = black
ro = red
br = brown
gn = green

bl = blue
gr = grey
li = lilac
ge = yellow

Just so you can see what I am seeing. V31 in the diagram is the passengers seat front/back motor. It looks like the red/white and solid white wires are supposed to come from the 10 pin connector. There is no solid white wire coming from any connectors or the harness. Any that you see in the picture that look white are actually multicolored.

I did look into how the service information is grouped by year by visiting the Erwin site (Erwin.vw.com). They group the literature for the 2014 in with 2011-2014, then 2015-2017 are together. I included some images below for anyone interested in purchasing service literature from Erwin. You have to register first, get a temporary password, use it, then come up with your own password. Once you do this you can access the database and search as per the below screen shots. One day subscription is $35.00. Supposedly, you can download as much as you want in the 24 hours that you have. If I subscribe and download I will let you know if I am happy with this strategy and the quality of the documents.

Success! I was referencing the wrong set of connectors/wires earlier in this thread, as directed by a service manual that is not written very well. I found the correct connectors/wires to perform troubleshooting (attached image).

My drivers seat has the memory function, while my passenger seat does not. I will need both wiring diagrams that Chewblekka sent for future issues. Thanks again!
