Hey everyone, newbie here. Just picked up my '05 Touareg V8 and am looking to do a few things here and there to make it my own. Forgive me if I'm Dead Horse , but I've searched high and low and can't seem to find any pics of the 21" Q7 S-line wheels (or the 22" replica's for that matter) on a Touareg. Can anyone help a brotha out? Thanks!

OK, here is the picture with the wheels on and vw centre caps in place - although it isn't clear in the picture. Once she's had a bath and got nice n purtied up, I'll post a few more with some closeups.

The centre caps are not the OEM's that came with the R50 as the R50 wheel has a special trim fitting to hide the wheel bolts and this spoked cover incorporates it's own centre cap. Not good. So, declining VW's kind offer of their AU$50 each caps, I sourced my own and affixed a VW emblem decal to the caps et voila - she's all good. Hard to tell even when looking cloesly. All up it cost me AU$46 for 4x70mm caps and 4x70mm emblem stickers sent from Thailand vie ebay. Much better value, plus I'm happy.

only thing left to do is get the VW Stealer to reset the TPMS menu to allow individual tyre pressure settings and I'm all set.

BTW, I fluked the positioning of the wheels for the photo, didn't realise until I posted... hehehe

OE wheels. Guy I bought them off had a V8TDI Q7 and upsized his wheels to
24-inch !! He didn't understand why I'd want smaller wheels, but I didn't clarify until after I'd recieved them  Just in case.

They ride very nicely, with original 275/45R20 Achillies Desert Hawk tyres fitted. Personally I'd go with a 275/40R20 when I replace these, but fingers crossed that'll be a few miles yet.

Hey Treggie, I just found a half decent deal on some 21" used mags, at the same time I'm pondering on a new set of 20". I was just wondering what exactly it was that made you take the R5 21"OEM's off, and install the 20"?

Over here in Aus, 21" tyres are significantly more expensive than 20". A lot of vehicles now have 20" as a standard option, some even ship with them. Consequently tyres are more available in 20" and therefore cheaper.

For example, to replace the 21" Dunlop Sport Maxx would cost me AU$1200 each, as opposed to AU$400-500 for a 20" equivalent. Plus, when traveliing around, 20" are more readily come by than the 21"s.

It's weird how much cheaper, and common 22" is over the 21".
Just called a local tire place. Price jump just in the Yokohama range jumps from about $240 +each for a 275-40-20" tire, to $650+ each for 295-35-21"!

Question on these Q7 rims....

Hi newbie here, do you know whether the Q7 bolt covers fit on the touareg bolts with these rims? Coz it looks naked on the rims without the original chrome bolt covers.
BTW, i just bought the exact same replicas, just got delivered late at 9pm today and will trial fit them out first thing tomorrow.
Anyways, i was so curious and took off one of my bolt covers from my rims and tried to insert it but wont fit (hole too small).
Another concern is that its 48mm offset. Not sure whether this will fit perfectly on the t-reg. Did you need any spacers? Appreciate any suggestion/advise.

SOrry i hope you can understand what i'm trying to ask here. I don't know how else to explain it. Cheers.

I've just fitted some Q7 20" wheels on my R50 - much better for touring.

No pictures just yet, but soon.
