Just replaced my dome lights with LED's

man i have tried everything with my 08. Everything that i have tried has not worked. if i put an led in both rear foot wells it causes all 4 to blink and some times turn of until i change the right rear back to a regular bulb. anyone have this issue with their 08? and if so how do I fix it?

I have just regular "blue" bulbs in the rears. You are correct that they will blink if you use LCDs back there. Mine are just a little bit more dim, but it is hardly noticeable.

Auto Zone over a yr. ago, went w/ incandescent (non LED) peanut bulbs in red,
approx. $2.95, for the footwell lights, no regrets. LEDs in the footwells are
overkill & not appreciated IMHO.

Think you need to come visit over @ CPF forums as you might feel right @ home there.
Those folks talk in terms of throw, spill, etc, way beyond crispness/cleaness.
We're talking footwell lights here nothing more, nothing less.

I personally think I like the yellow lights better. But that's just my opinion. Probably because I just had the Touareg for only about 24 hours so far. But I just like the way it iluminates the interior since its beige already and looks more elegant.

I have been told of all kinds of resistors and what not to try, nothing has worked.. i think i have been defeated..:-( Installed the blue bulbs from auto zone, they suck but its the best i can do for now.

And then I got 2 194 bulbs for the map lights:

any tips on how to remove the 2 map lights? I swapped out the dome light no problem...the map lights seem recessed in their metalish housing (I can't pull them out with my fingers). Do they twist or pull out out does the whole housing pop out. Thanks

any tip on removing the map lights (on each side of the dome light)? Mine are recessed in the metalish looking housing and cant get my fingers around them. Do they pull straight out or twist. Thanks for any suggestions. p.s. I already switched out the dome light.

Has anyone completed this on a T2? I just want to make sure that everything is kosher before I buy all of these LED lights.

I have & also own an 08 T2. I replaced both map lights (blue) + the front dome (single LED, plenty bright), the puddle lights (bottom of outside mirrors w/ white) & the side rear cargo area lights (blue again), all w/ LEDs.
I started w/ Oznium.com initially but found better selection, cust. service & longer lasting LEDs @ superbrightleds.com

Also replaced the front footwell lights but NOT w/ LEDs, incan. Bought the same type of OEM VW bulbs (in red) @ Auto Zone after reading all the voltage issues that folks experienced here trying to use LEDs.
YMMV but don't think so if you insist on using LEDs in this area, senior fellas may join in here w/ an explanation.
