Love the 09 Touareg TDI

Hello All,

My wife recently purchased a 09 Touareg TDI, White, lux, tech, hitch, 19" packages. Love this SUV. our previous SUV was an 02 Jeep Overland, and 04 Toyota Land Cruiser. This Touareg is much more quieter and very solid. Love the mpg. We traveled to FL from NC an back during the Thanksgiving holiday and my averaged was 26mpg on hwy. My only concern is that i hear this knocking sound coming from the back right of the car when i go over a bump at any speed. Has anyone encountered the same problem as me. I'm going to take it to the dealer and hopefully they can fix it.

Have you checked that there's nothing rattling around the spare wheel well? I & others have found the spare, tools, etc. a little loosely secured following delivery. Hope this helps--Chris

I think I recall a post in the last month or so about having the wrong spare/wheel on a new Treg (or something like that) and it caused the spare cover not to close also causing a rattle. I think the dealer had swapped some things around.
