After much back and forth I've decided that instead of buying a used Touareg, I'm going to lease a new (2010) TDI. I'm in Toronto but willing to travel to any Ontario dealer. I don't need the vehicle right away, since my BMW lease doesn't run out until the end of Feb.

Any tips on what's a reasonable discount (if any) off the sticker price. I'm going for a Comfortline with the Tech. package.

This is the Canada sub-forum. I'm sure the odd Canadian who is buying a Touareg checks in here. They don't have to be leasing to be able to offer insight on typical discounts off list price. Not sure what the point of your reply was.

Do not think there will that many canadians on this forum leasing a 2010 Touareg

Point of my reply is that there are not that many canadian touareg owners here especially in the market for a 2010 Touareg so it could very well be possible that answers to your question might be few and far between.
It is meant as a friendly FYI

Hi,

I just lease a TDI 2010 and got it yesterday and im from montreal QC ( We won againts you guys in hockey ) Anyway, if you need some info feel free to contact me, I can tell you how much I got it and more. And for your info the car is freakin nice!!!! Worth every pennies

I just ordered a Comfort with Sport Package & hitch. Gave me $2500 off and took my trade at a higher than expected price = $4,500. More than happy.

With all due respect to nltomba, I would suggest that there are a lot of people here, in the Canada specific forum, who either own or are in search of a Touareg, specifically a 2010 TDI. One of this sites moderators is a Canadian, so as an FYI I would suggest it's ok to ask those questions in here, seeing as that's exactly what the Canadian sub forum is for.

I have a 2010 TDI Highline, with Sport, Tech and Tow package, and I was able to negotiate $4800 off sticker. That said I'm also on the dealership's frequent buyer program LOL. Personally I've purchased 3 VW's in the last 18 months, not to mention the deal I made on my in-law's Jetta and sister's Golf. This is also my 16th VW product so I'm not sure how much that swayed their pricing, or even if that's a good deal. To be sure, I know the person who bought the first 09 TDI Treg and only got a $2500 discount so I felt confident it was a fair deal.

I just took delivery of a 2010 TDI last weekend. Black Highline with Sport and Tech package - I love it!!! I waited almost 6 months for it. I originally ordered a 2009, but the dealer had no more allotment so I had to wait. I negotiated a $1,000 discount up front - Oakville VW.

Good luck!

Was this a cash deal? That's an amazing discount if it was on a finance or lease. More info please.

It's a good deal, but not far off what anyone should be able to get. I got approx. $3,200 off for a base Comfortline with no options other than tow package, on a 36-month lease. That's about 6.2% off, or $1,500 over invoice.

06TregV8's $4,800 discount works out to be about 7.1%.

I got $3500 off the base for a 2010 TDI Highline and might've been able to haggle another $500 but for the extra $10/mth i was going to save i didn't bother.

Can't wait for it to arrive!

I wanted to take advantage of 0% VW finance offer for 2009s but all dealers in Ont / Que were sold out of these in Fall 2009, bought mine in Oct 2009 from very friendly people at VW dealership in.....(ask me!) still getting a discount from a sticker price... and was all smiles driving it back home overnight from the Atlantic Provinces.
