Volk - L Bluetooth...Lots of Static

Just delivered 2009 T2 with Volk - L Bluetooth installed at the dealer (don't get me started how horrible they where, but the price was right on the vehicle and the free Bluetooth I convinced them to add)...anyhow, sounds great on the other end, but in the vehicle itself, terrible static...any ideas? Did they install badly? Much appreciated.

Also, still awaiting the manuals (again, lovely dealer...procured the vehicle from another dealer and failed to get the manuals, amongst other things...) - how come my iPhone/iPod won't play via AUX jack? Got it to play last night via AUX (works fine through the glovebox USB connection into the RNS) but now I can't get it work again via AUX...any help...also, if anyone is willing to scan a few pages of the manual on such things, I'd be forever in your debt...

Do you have something plugged into the glovebox connection at the same time you have something in the aux jack? The glovebox connection takes precedent on our Passat.

Question: how do you have the ipod plugged into the glovebox connection?

No not at the same time with both plugs. The AUX jack is a standard RS cable. The glovebox is USB from the iPhone to a cable provided by VW the accepts the USB and plugs into the glovebox jack.

I think the VW cable was supposed to be an extra charge from VW, but it was there when the car was delivered and I was pleasantly surprise.

Maybe you need to remove the cable that VW provided for the glovebox?

Yes, standard stereo cable...great idea on making sure the other cable is removed...who knows, might just be the trick, will advise...

I beg to differ ,your pretty new so ill be gentle.as ami i ..but ...the Ipod/iphone wont work like that. you never got it working like that.itll charge it maybe.... that cable that came free with the car is a USB cable.for hard drives with MP3s and vw sells a separate cable for ipod ..that way you can control the ipod with the touchscreen....45ish bucks from the dealer. and the one that came free would work great with a 500 GB passport hard drive with music files.or something like that..so he is correct you need a detected cable for Ipods..

Thanks for being gentle, I have both cables you speak of...any advice on the Volk-L static?

Thanks, that seemed to do the trick...methinks the system gets confused when both plugs are active...I the ultimate set-up may be one of my iPods acting as a music 'server' on the glovebox (then again I may transfer music onto the hard drive but I understand file formats can tangle you up), leaving my iPhone to accept calls on the Volk-L Bluetooth...the fun part, actually, is figuring it all out.
