New (to me) 05 V8 - couple questions on whats what (pics inside)

Just purchased an 05 with Nav and Air Suspension - as my wife and I are getting more comfortable with the SUV, we have a couple of questions:

1. What is this connector? Our Treg didn't come with a tow package so while researching what we needed, I was peeking in the compartment where the cd changer is and noticed that this connector is just hanging in there (wasn't able to get the trim out enough to verify if the trailer control module is there or not...some other day I will start taking the panels apart to see in there better.) Anyone have any idea by the location, shape, etc. what the connector is supposed to be for?

2. What is this speaker looking box on the side wall in the passenger footwell - looks like it may be a part of some sort of alarm system or something? Is this stock? Looks out of place to us...

I too have an '05. I'll keep my eye on this thread for the answers as well. I don't have the speaker, but I'll have to check on the plug.

If your 2005 T-reg does not have air suspension, I think that connector in your photo not plugged in to anything is T8j, for the Vehicle Inclination Sensor. That sensor is not equipped on vehicles that don't have air suspension.

The speaker appears to be an add-on, the fact the wire is running in front of the plastic vs. behind indicates to me it was not an OEM thing. My guess is that someone had a 2 way radio installed and that was a external speaker for it.

the speaker is an aftermarket hands free system for a telephone, most likely there was at one time a docking station for an actual phone. Looks like the same speaker I had for my old motorola v.60 phone. Not sure about the connector. Mine does not have the factory hitch, so perhaps it's a hitch wiring setup connector... that does look factory.

The Treg does have air suspension - have been having fun playing with it! I wonder if someone can confirm my suspicion - yesterday we noticed that it has an ipod connector that the previous owner installed into the center storage bin...I think the connector may be supposed to be hooked up the cd changer. Can anyone take a look at any connectors going to their changer and see if its the same?

My V10 has a factory cable plugged in there, its difficult to trace but I have factor tow kit and a factory phone kit plus keyless. I doubt its the phone kit becuase thats all bluetooth to the radio so my guess is its the tow kit wiring harness which should have at least 13 pins or it could be keyless but I think that the keyless unit is under the drivers seat.
