CD wont eject in OEM base radio. I did manage to get it out after multiple tries then the next one in stuck again. Shame of it is its some baby songs CD that my 1 year old likes, still plays, just wont eject. Should have left the other CD in traveling wilburys was a better go to.

Anyway my question is you think they need to replace the radio, I am under warranty. And if so you think i could just pay the up charge to get the DVD Navigation? I mean they would make some $ on the deal. Just wondering if people have had this happen. Just blinks with CD ERROR EJECT.

OK well happy friday and bring on the weekend.

Me too... mine will only eject the CD so less than an 1/8" is showing so you have to grab it with your fingernails and pull it out before is pulls it back in. I had the same thought about upgrading to DVD nav.

Looking forward to other replies.

I had the same issue only a few weeks after I got my V6. You may want to try to insert a second CD, but only for about an inch or so. In my case, it set in motion the "ejecting" function and I was able to at least get the CD out that was stuck. I took it to the dealer and he replaced the entire unit.

I used the second CD 1/3 in and hit Eject and that let me get out the kiddie songs CD. It happens again on next inserted CD. So i guess I am going to have to get it replaced. Just a mater of deciding what day i want to go through the pain of a dealer visit. Thanks ...

Guys time to upgrade to OEM NAvi by the way I have OEM radio that I was planing to sell. used for about 6 months.

Dealer said they will order me a replacement radio. I asked to pay for the upgrade to DVD navi but they said its not allowed. I guess it makes sense dont want people breaking their OEM radio and getting a discount on the upgrade to Nav. I guess.

Just out of curiosity vwtouareg4me you selling a NAV OEM (DVD/CD?) or a base factory one? Just because i am getting my replacement for free so i wouldnt need that version.

Thanks,
Brent

PS. Dealer took 1 hour to get radio out and get the numbers off the back. Which is about what i expected.

My son inserted a small McDonald's free CD back in 2004 and I haven't used the CD drive since!! The dealer will not warranty an undersized CD insertion issue as there are warnings to the user in the owner's manual - so if you have the same child-related misfortune I have, then the outcome is to pay for the repair or else ... use an iPod?
