Not sure why you think this is a flaw or even a problem. It works as was intended. Just don't push the stalk so far when turning on the rear wiper. I have only ever invoked the washer when I wanted to use it.

You will have to live with the Passenger Airbag off light, it has been around since the beginning. You should be able to turn the DRL's off via a VAG Com cable. The only way to avoid that light is a piece of tape, keep someone in the passenger side at all times when you drive or put a weight on the seat so it does not come on. I don't recommend the last idea at all but have heard of someone doing it.

I think you all need to get used to it. It's different than in some other cars, especially if your previous car was not German. From my own experience, just got another bimmer, jeez everything different than in T2. I've got to drive my husband'sTreg for only 2 month, and had driven BMW for 4 year prior to that. Got new 3 series, complete shock, and it took me a week to get used to everything.

It is a design flaw. The definition of a design flaw can also include ergonomics. If it's easy to 'accidentally' engage a feature without intending to do so - its a flaw. Fortunately it is a harmless flaw.

I have owned VW, BMW, Merc & still have my 911 (since '95) and even a Merkur - none allowed me to 'accidentally' do engage anything I did not intend. The only other feature I had to 'get used to' was the cruise control stalk on the Merc but it never caused me to 'accidentally' engage it.

Sorry Ania - the Touareg is not perfect. But I still love it!
