After weeks of not seeing another Touareg, I glanced in my rear view mirrow on the way home and was surprised and happy to see another Treg right behind me. :joy: Heading North on Centre City Parkway in Escondido at around 2:30pm. It was a beautiful silver one. I opened my sunroof and did a backward wave and got a big wave and lights blinked at me. I was so excited cause this is the first acknowledgement I have gotten from another Treg owner.

I see many T-regs here in San Diego, but nobody ever waves. They don't even look. I have waved at times but only once did someone wave back.

I will usually way or give a quick double tap on the lights to other Touaregs. Like volkster, I have found that very few will acknowledge. But, I still try.
I lived in Chula Vista from 1965 - 1976. I graduated from Hiltop High School. I lived up off of "J" Street on Monserate.

I always try to get a wave from other Treggers but seldom get one. Sometimes I get a look at least.

chula vista

I too grew up in Bonita and Graduated from BVHS in '91. Also attended SWC for a few years. Just came from visiting mom (who graduated from Hilltop) off of 2nd and E Street. And dad who lives in Bonita. More and more Tregs showing up in Chula.

Where I live, at least in our neighborhood, about 40% of the people wave anyway, regardless of vehicle. Except for some of the Beemers. It was closer to 60% when we first moved here, and it freaked us out a little at first. It was like a little cult or something. But the we got used to it and started doing it too. But more and more people are moving out to the sticks from the expensive Bay Area and the local culture is changing. :(:(

What's the secret handshake? Flash the brights? Make the rear wiper wave? What?
