I added a link to VW CPO. Check that out so that you are knowledgeable if you should happen to have issues. It usually is transferable also if you do a private sale. Doesn't carry over if traded in.

Ok thanks. I basically was signing all the paper work then was told that all TDI’s that were certified carried that extended warranty. Couldn’t believe it but glad to have it.

TurboABA In service date = usually the date that the vehicle was first registered as being owned by first owner..... registered for use on road.

CPO vehicles carry a different warranty. That means that everything is covered on yours. Not sure which the dealership will dip from first, but having both... you have nothing to worry about. CPO might have a deductible, but the emissions does not.

sawtooth Also I was told when I bought my 2016 that it was certified and carried a 2 year “unlimited mileage” warranty. Was anyone else told this? Almost sounds to good to be true as I drive around 40k per year.

I agree. Not perfectly clear. Google search pulled up Autotrader that stated "An in-service date is important because it's not only the date the car is originally sold, but it's also the date a car's warranty begins."

sawtooth Yeah I see that but not sure what it means. I’m guessing from when the vehicle was purchased new during the first service date? Not a very clear statement though.
