IIRC he does, there is a map for coolant temp vs rpm

From what ive researched its not terribly difficult to remove and delete the egr system. A few block off plates, reroute some coolant lines. If youve ever done it to another tdi car its fairly similar. Intake manifold has to be removed to get to it.

- Euro Paddle Shifter Steering wheel retrofit
- Autohold retrofit
- yrktreg tcm retune
- Malone stg 2 tune
- 3" turboback exhaust
- 265/65/18 duratracs on Cayenne wheels

Back to swirl flaps, the only info I've found online is for BMWs and they require a hardware modification to eliminate the swirl flaps. Is this the case for the Touareg? Or can they just be tuned out?

There is nothing there regarding a hardware change. Does that mean no hardware change?

I believe if you unplug them, the failsafe condition is "open"... As long as you ignore the CEL, you should be able to see how it affects the engine performance.

Malone doesn't have a dynamic EGR program for the V6 TDI, only for the 4 cylinder engines. He said the EGR program is much more complex in EDC17 than compared to other ECMs.

I have my EGR disabled, and my swirl flap still active. On the later engines (2014+, CNRB), the design is different. The 6 moving flaps in the lower manifold have been replaced with a single flap in the intake manifold.
