My Touareg 3.0 TDI model 2006 engine lost the power, with coil sign flashing ... I took it to VW they said i need to change the manifold and the catalizer ... I refused to change them at VW . I bought after market ones feom Germany and changed them.. but !!coil sign still flashing and unfortunately engine still losing power the power & maximum speed 80km/h or 90km/h . I took it back to VW they said since you repaired the car after market we cannot do anything for you. They advised me to sell my car as scrab !!!! Full service history, no accident sport utility car to scarb? Any idea please what could be the reason of coil sing flashing and lost power other than manifold and catalizer ?
Thanks

Garage
All we can tell you at this point is that you appear to have a problem.

Can you take the Touareg to an independent (not the dealer) mechanic to be worked on?

We need a VCDS scan of the Touareg before we can even give you a guess what is going on.
If you plan to keep the vehicle or to work on it yourself, you need to have access to a VCDS.

Based on the limited information you've provided, I can only assume that you are in LIMP mode.
Flashing coil can be quite a few things. As above, a proper scan will give you much more detail. How many KMS on it? Have you changed any of the exhaust components on it since new? Does it have a DPF and\or AD BLUE system.... not familiar with that year and market in your area.

Any other codes or recently failed sensors such as EGT or pressure sensors?

Not related..... does the exhaust smell funnier than usual? You really need to get a proper VCDS scan off it as we don't have a whole lot to go on over here. How did you clear the codes after changing what you thought were the problem parts?
