OK got some weights at the local post office dropping off some stuff this evening...

Stock GTB and GTD turbines both weigh in at roughly 153 grams.

The special sauce bigger turbine wheel is suppose weigh in at ~120 grams.

The larger MFS billet compressor wheel for the GTB2260 weighs ~53.86 grams

The stock TiAL MFS GTD billet compressor wheel (bigger than upgraded above GTB2260 wheel) weighs in at 68 grams

I think i'm going to get one of the new gen II style MFS wheels that will slightly larger than the GTD compressor wheel

So imagine the same top end flow but having a faster spool up time due to a lighter turbine wheel, ceramic ball bearing, and the same GTD VNT assy.

This is what i'm going to build...

I think i'm going to do a larger all out size, and another slightly smaller one based on the GTD2263 for people that want something between the GTB2260 below and the GTD2872 also listed below.

Going to ceramic ball bearing add some cost and complexity to it, but I think it is worthwhile.

I'm going to have different compressor wheel sizes and style based on the desired goal.

So smaller and different design for low end focus while still having good flow up top, and larger and again different design for all out power.

Received the new turbine wheel yesterday, and ordered 2 more today along with the new style MFS compressor wheels.

I'm going to build 3 of these to start with. 2 for Touaregs and 1 for a Q5.

That way Malone will have a decent database to work from

Now i'm just waiting on the final parts to show up.

Since the 3 people (myself included) are all looking for around 400hp I went with a compressor wheel capable of supporting this, and we will see how spool is for anyone else looking for something with either a tad more top end, or more low end for towing as we can go bigger or smaller from here...
