r5 2.5 tdi exhaust manifold replacement

hi all,
i'm a bit confused. my exhaust manifold cracked (where it usually does, at the first cylinder), and i decided to get a replacement. i almost ordered one from ebay, but realized that the manifold on the image had the top pipe facing straight back, parallel to the engine's axis, whereas the one on my engine faces slightly outward (at about 45 degrees to the back), so the piping can get around a mysterious part sitting on top of the back of the manifold. i've attached images.
my questions are:
1) what is the mystery part? i've flipped through a bunch of images in google, and not all 2.5 tdi's seem to have it (i guess the ebay part would fit snugly on those)
2) what is the respective part number of the correct type of manifold i need?
3) any ideas that come to mind. i'd like to keep the replacement(/repair?) at low cost
thanks in advance

They don't always have a picture of the exact part.
Often you'll see the same picture for several different engines.

The different part might be for one of the T5 engines.

The manual R5 has a different EGR cooler

I bought a T5 manifold and deleted the EGR piping and the cooler - The t-piece that feeds the egr cooler gets very brittle and can easily break.

All vw/audi engines must use 507.00 spec oil except non-DPF R5/V10 engines that must use 505.01/506.01
