Oil Dipstick - retrofit

After having some less than confidence inspiring engine oil alerts on my wife's Q5 2.0 - I decided to investigate adding a dipstick to my Treg.

I have had no issues with the oil level indicator in the Nav unit - but on my wife's Audi - it kept wanting me to add oil. After adding 1 qt from the first alert, I no longer had any idea if it was low or high on subsequent alerts (3 within 20 miles). Dealer said it was 1 qt high this morning - so the sensor was wrong.

Anyway, I did purchase an actual dipstick for my 2014 TDI. Has anyone else done this? The dipstick does not fit as tight as the "plug", but seems snug. Am I going to get a CEL? I am wondering if there might be enough crankcase pressure to push the dipstick out...which is why the plug fits so tight.

Any thoughts?

Put a thicker o-ring on it. Installed the factory dip stick on our MY 2012, works as expected.

It makes sense that a semi permanent plug would be tighter then a removable dipstick.

If you feel that the seal is iffy, then perhaps that thicker 0-ring is the solution.

Plug on mine was pretty snug too least it felt that way, hard to compare as it was just a nub to pull on. As I recall had to use pliers to get it off, now by comparison if you had to pull the new stick out and not use the yellow ring, it might be tough to pull out too. Anyways fatter o-ring will work too.
