How does this flow better than the factory air box?

I was sceptical at first, but I decided to go ahead and do it diy style.
The results are surprisingly good.
At idle I was pulling 4.5g/s stock and with the upgrade I'm pulling 6.7g/s, this being from maf data.

Driving quality, sounds louder (of course), very nice to hear the engine and you can feel a significant increase in get up and go in the car.

Who knows about mileage, I'd assume it's going to be the same if not a little better.

When I did this to my last vehicle I had increased my mileage as well.

Interesting. I didn't think the cone filters had more surface area than than the stock ones. Maybe all the bends going up and down lower airflow.

I made the calculations as to how much surface area stock was and I got a bigger surface area cone filter.

Looks awesome! Do you have a link for the 90 degree silicone hose bend?

Looks good! Very similar to my home-brew intake setup. I just had to make two of them...

It's cool to see what a couple bucks of silicone and some quick fabrication can lead to. NICE JOB!!!

Bet it sounds a lil better too. Maybe grab a couple video clips? Some quick throttle blips so people can hear the throttle opening/closing...?

Yeah, it sounds pretty good.
I do have a dash cam video that I've been showing people but I don't know how to post it here.

Wow this is crazy, I usually get 14.9mpg (15.8l/100km), but this time around with the new air intake setup and flooring it about 2-3 times, my last full up is 15.9mpg (14.8l/100km).

Funny how that works.
