V8 Cat bypass

Has anyone done this? I am interested, but I dont want to spend $500-800 on the kits. Alternatives?

I did see someone who just gutted them, but that seems unreliable.

I would also like to know from those that have bypassed the secondary cats... Does the exhaust fumes smell worse now.. I have bypassed all 4 cats on a V8 S4 and the smell was terrible.

Ironically, I'm getting a shop to do the resonator delete tomorrow for about $140.

DPF is really the only thing to cut down the 'diesel smell'.

Does your exhaust smell worse since you did this?

I've noticed no difference in the smell. Of course, I'm driving it so, i really can't tell.

It's very raspy though. I love it. Un noticeable at idle.
