APR. or. Unitronic.??

Has anyone experienced either APR or Unitronic tuning to their Touareg? I have a 2014 V6 FSI and would like to get more hp,tq and mpg out of it. I've had APR in my Audi A4 and worked well, but when I looked at both sites APR had very little improvement compared to stock compared to Unitronic.

APR had only 7hp increase and Unitronic had 30hp?? Which one do I believe? Lol

Is 30hp worth voiding your powertrain warranty?

I had unitronic on my VR6 FSI CC 4motion and it was a very tiny difference if at all. Not to mention losing MPG fuel ecomony. Like T-Reguan stated, you void the warranty. VW can tell if ECU was flashed or not as soon as it is hooked up to computer. In my opinion, whether it voids the warranty or not, i can think of much better things to spend 650$ on. Now if our cars were TSI or turbo charged, that's a different story. I flashed my 2.0T A4 before and it was night and day difference.

Good luck in your decision. Thats my person experience.

In a naturally aspirated engine there isn't much you can do to achieve considerable results, unless of course you do "the works". VW and Audi have been cracking on the moders so any alteration could trigger a TD-1 code. I don't think intake will impact your warranty but it won't give you much of a benefit either, IMHO.

The stock intake is a cold air intake. If you take a VCDS and log the IAT's you will find the temps are pretty damn good. You could find a dry multistage foam air filter that will flow better than the stock paper. But the gains will be negligible.
