2007 V6 fuel rail chirping/noise

I have a 2007 Touareg with the 3.6 V6. It has recently started making a chirping noise in the upper fuel rail. The only code that it gives is a P0088 Fuel Rail/System pressure too high. I replaced the HPFP (High Pressure Fuel Pump) that is on the engine, same issue. When I disconnect the N276 Pressure regulator connector, the noise goes away, the engine will idle ok, but will not accelerate due to fuel pressure being too low. When I use my VCDS, the fuel rail pressure is approximately 125 bar and does not change with engine RPM or load. When I accelerate hard, the noise goes away due to the fuel demand being almost equal to the fuel pressure. Any suggestions to look at before I take it to the dealer?

Here is a YouTube video that I took of the noise. I have removed the belt and the noise is still there. I used a stethoscope and the noise is coming from the fuel rail, no noise from the intake or the valve cover.

It's most likely the timing chains are stretched. Causing the engine and fuel pump to be out of time. If you have a way to check the MVB look at 208 and 209 field 3. If the values exceed 8 degrees then it needs timing chains.

My Touareg is currently at a local shop with the engine out and getting new chains, tensioners, guides, etc. I ordered a kit from ECS Tuning that has all VW parts. I checked the MVB 208 and 209 and both were out of specs. The owner/mechanic is a former VW mechanic that opened his own shop. I felt like I could do it myself, but decided that someone that has done it before would be better. It should be done in the next few days and then we'll see if the high fuel pressure code goes away.

Well, our Touareg is back together and running like new. One of the timing chain guides had broken and was just laying inside the cover. The fuel pump was off one tooth and that was causing the codes and high fuel pressure. While I had it apart, I media blasted the intake valves as they were really bad.
