2004-2006 Touareg Cold Air Induction - Group Buy

Greetings Touareg Enthusiast:

I’m copying you on a progress note for the 2004-2006 Touareg - A Cold Air Induction Upgrade package is in final stages of development and a “Group Buy Option” is currently available for up to 10 Touareg owners who want to be first at improving the intake performance of their engines.

Evolution Motor Sports (EVOMS) makes the Cayenne S V8 V-Flow Intake which also fits the 2004-2006 Touareg Non-FSI motor without any modifications eliminating the stock air boxes. The kit can also be adapted to the FSI motor and perhaps other models depending on demand.

I speak from experience when I tell you this is an upgrade that will best be appreciated when you modify your exhaust, do an engine tune or remap your trans - it’s a crowning improvement once you’ve completed the other mods.

Here’s what you can expect:

Smooth throttle response
Improved torque in the 3500-4500 RPM range
Deeper - throaty sound
Overall more refined application of power - you may realize the total potential of the stock motor and resolve that there is nothing more to gain unless you supercharge - that’s a good thing getting the “most” out of a stock motor and this upgrade completes that mission quite handsomely!

Group Buy: Go on the EVOMS site here: Porsche Cayenne S V-Flow Intake EVOMS you'll see the list price as $595.00 which is what I paid. The Group Buy will represent a significant savings for the participants prior to the release of the Touareg V-Flow Intake package should enough folks express interest.

You may reply here and I'll submit the names or you can contact Gem at EVOMS directly and work out a solution at cost. Have Fun!!

Just adding a bit more detail: The EVOMS Cayenne kit includes a Cayenne specific silicone hose. The included heat shields, cone filters and Secondary Breather all bolt directly onto your 2004-2006 Touareg - the Touareg specific silicone hose and the adaptor for the Secondary Breather are the "custom" components that are key to making this a "direct fit" upgrade. The demand for the Touareg fitment will help EVOMS determine whether its productive to make a run for the Touareg line-up.

Below in the first photo you can see the Secondary Air Filter supplied by EVOMS - the 3/8" neck on the adaptor sitting to the right of the filter is not going to work on the 4.2 non-FSI motor. In the second photo is the same type of kit supplied by ECS - part (#2864860) @ $28.00 - the adaptor sitting to the right of the filter is the part you need to button things up - the rubber grommet is not needed and the bracket is up to you. The third photo is a close-up of the adaptors - ECS on the right - as you can see its tapered and snugs up nicely in the breather hose connection in the last photo. The neck on the EVOMS filter will not fit the ECS adaptor just in case you were wondering.

This completes the installation!
