What he means is the reman unit would not cost nearly as much if you were just sending in your bad core RNS 510 to get the reman one. Since you are not sending anything in for a core replacement, then you are paying more for the reman unit. They would use your bad unit to repair and then resell it.

I will let you in on a little secret.....purchase a re manufactured unit from Tim and you will most likely receive a new unit. New Touareg units are 2,600 so $2,200 for remanufactured (new?) is not bad.

I had to wait a couple of months but i finally got my re manufactured unit from Tim two weeks ago and the date code was 01/2010. They were back ordered for so long I don't think they had any cores left to re manufacture. Once they start getting core returns back again then that may change.

I have a 2007 v10 touareg, with nav and rev cam, it's the factory version for the model year, would that unit serve as a core, just wondering? Also, would the new touch-screen unit work in my touareg??
